Arrive in Lima and explore the best of the capital city through its cuisine. Visit a traditional market in Lima, learn how to make a Ceviche, and taste the most traditional dessert of the capital. After Lima, travel to Arequipa to walk along its charming streets and visit its monuments. The day after, you’ll have a scenic drive to the Colca Canyon, one of the best places to spot Andean condors in Peru.
Continue from Colca Canyon to Puno and then sail in the Lake Titicaca to Uros, Taquile, and Luquina communities. There, you’ll enjoy stunning landscapes and learn about the traditions and ancient knowledge these societies hold.
After Lake Titicaca and, on your way to Cusco, you’ll explore a fascinating pre-Incan cemetery, Sillustani, on the shores of Umayo Lake.
Once in Cusco, you’ll go straight to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, the perfect place to enjoy your first days in Cusco, because of its lower elevation (2,870 m or 9,415 ft) and it’s peaceful atmosphere.
On your second day in the Sacred Valley, you’ll visit the Misminay community, Maras Salt Ponds, and Moray circular terraces. These two are some of the most exciting and still mysterious Inca sites. After a nice rest in Lima, you’ll take a bike tour around Miraflores and Barranco to taste the best of the Peruvian food. Next, board a flight to Puerto Maldonado and travel to Tambopata National Reserve in the middle of the Southern Amazon Rainforest! Once there, spend 3 days and 2 nights at a jungle lodge in the buffer zone of the reserve, sailing to nearby oxbow lakes and fishing-releasing piranhas, kids’ favorite!
After exploring the jungle, take your bags and fly to Cusco, Inca’s city. From there, we’ll go to the Sacred Valley to spend the first nights for better acclimatization, since Cusco is higher than this valley.
